Being an outcast golfer myself, I have reveled in the variety of quality golf courses in our immediate area. Recent rounds played at the Slammer and Squire ($44) and southhampton($37) were really great experiences. The quality of the conditioning programs is really appreciated when you roll your first putt.
One interesting observation occurred at the Slammer where they had one green whose back section has some black fungus. When we came back the next week it was gone. The grounds crew indicated it takes about one week too get after these types of problems.
My experience to date suggests and it is my opinion only that Southhampton and Slammer and Squire have the best greens but eagle landing and eagle harbor come in a close second.
The best conditioned golf course with a limited maintainance budget has to be Flemming Island. It is amazing the quality levels they achieve with the budget they spend.Great practice facility as well.
ONe additional note and that deals with variety and costs. The variety makes you a better golfer. The deals out there are all over the place from high end private for $50 to Donald Ross sat 8 AM for $25 tax included. I will pull together a list for all you outcasts out there.I
